ABOUT THE WALK

We have been here many of times over the past few years, its perfect for walking in all weathers.

There is 9 walking trails throughout the forest, from tramper trails to hill walks, we have completed them all in both summer and winter, and often include the summit of Seat Howe or even up to Lords seat which is on the forest trails.

There is a map in the shop, with colour coded posts throughout each trial which are easy to follow, if including Lords seat then we would recommend taking a map/compass too.

There is a Gruffalo trail which is perfect for little ones and buggy friendly trails too, you can get the trail packs from the reception/shop.

The play area is fantastic with different areas to engage the kids

We even spotted red squirrels at our last visit, which was the first time we had seen them in the wild, so be sure to pack the squirrel nuts.
